Honestly... DM8>DM9. Ive owned both and really have never seen enough of a difference to really spend the extra money. My DM9 shot IDENTICAL to my old PM8... I guess I just can see spending the extra 2-3 hundred dollars when you can use the same eye pipe system on the dm8...

It's more or less milling and bolt length.

i have a dm8 and love it.....pretty much they will all shoot the same(dm7,8,9). so your best bet is to go with the dm7 or dm8 and save the money.

DM6's shoot just as good as any DM7, if you really want to save money, get a DM6

I picked up a DM7 with a Tank for $425. Any upgrades i should think about getting or is strait right out of the box? Thanks for the help boys, its been awhile since I've played (Thanks to the Navy) so I just want to get back in and see if I still got it. It amazing to me that paintball doesn't seem as popular as it did just 4 years ago. Hell my last tournament was in 2004.....that's insane.

I am late to the party, but I have a DM7 and LOVE it. Several guys on my team love it too. The DM5/6 are heavy and bulky. I have yet to shoot anything new than a DM7, but I have no beefs with my gun.

No need for upgrades. DM's are made the way they are for a reason... they're already upgraded. Only upgrades I would recommend are trigger and other aesthetic stuff. Both of those being ALL preference. All the internals should be left as they are. If you're playing at a field that is strictly semi-only. A new board MAY help you. If you're playing PSP Ramp at your fields, spending anything more than a penny for a new board is wasted money that could be otherwise spent on paint as all UL DM boards are sufficient for PSP Ramp rules.

It all comes down to weight, comfort, size. They all Preform pretty much the same. I think the Dm9 the best of all those if you ask me but. all DM's 6-10 are solid gun's
