Virture Rotor board: Jamming Q's

Right, as virtue's website don't have a manual for this and I haven't been able to google up any infromation I would like to know from someone who has one:

How does the "jam detection" work and what does it do to clear a jam? Does the motor reverse for you? Does the pulsing action help clear jams? Whats the deal?

It simply detects jams, no reversing motion. It gives you feedback with a yellow LED. The pulsing does help prevent jams simply because it only powers the spinning motion for a half second and won't slam paint around to the point where it gets wedged, just until it's detected.

Ideally, with the selectable speeds, automatic torque, pulsing and RF capabilities, chances of jamming are minimal. I'll post up a review when I have a few cases through when it comes to how well it's worked out, but I believe the main draw for this board should be ease on the paint and consistency more than speed or anti-jamming like the SEED offers.

It's possible that an autoreverse feature could be added with a future firmware update, seeming as the Virtue board is user updateable (assuming of course that you have the USB adapter/programmer accessory).

A firmware update might give you the electronic function of auto reverse, but to actually do so you need to change one of the gears in the rotor itself as the stock gears are directional. The SEED upgrade somes with these gears. SEED>Virtue by far.

Aah, apologies - I'm not a Rotor owner, so wasn't aware of that.
