Is there a tutorial of sorts that show how to properly mod a winchester with a lid? I have the lid I can use. My other winchester came modded with 2 snaps (holes put through lid and hopper and then the button snap things installed) put through the lid and hopper to secure them together. The lid pulled off though so I believe it was set up incorrectly.

Anyways, I checked the sticky and could only find an expired picture thread about 50 round pods so no help there.

Sorry, I don't know of any tutorials but I remember reading a thread just like this one where someone posted instructions... Just passing on the favor

1. Saw off the lip of the hopper that holds the pringles lid on. Try not to saw off more than necessary.
2. Use some medium grit sandpaper to sand off the cut edge... Hold the sandpaper in place and push the hopper onto it.
3. Wipe with wet paper towel to get rid of crud on the edge
4. Superglue the lid onto the hopper at the angle you want!

Trust me, superglue is tons stronger than any pins. That's really it.. Hope this helps

Cool, cool. I didn't think about the superglue holding. I have some gorilla glue that should allow me to give myself more room and a more secure fit. The pins were causing the occasional jam or feed issues because the lid would slip and such

dependng on the lid all you have to do is just tape it on. the dye lock lids and the evil lids fit right over perfectly all ya have to do is tape it on. i just used a utility knife to cut out the internal edge and sanded it smooth very simple mod to do.

if you can get ahold of a dye locklid here's one way

cut the top part of the lock lid right at the lip of the tube. shave the top part of the winnie if there is still a lip on there to hold the press fit cap that came with it. then super glue the dye lock lid down. by doing it this way, the opening mechanism is still retained on the lock lid.

I am going to look for a lock lid instead of these APP pod lids or whatever they are called. It seems like it will be the better way to go

next time when you're out at your local field, keep your eves on the ground. there are always a crap load of broken ones on the ground at my field. I've never paid for one.

I did that, but I could only find either the broken collar only or just the lid. I'll keep trying...

I literally just crammed a pod lid on mine and added electrical tape. Works great, and even looks good if you aren't right next to it.
