dm8 oring keeps popping off

i have a friends dm8 and the back oring on the tophat keeps popping off. i can air it up and it will usually work perfectly at home, i even shot a hopper full at home, but right when i get to the field and shoot it a couple times the oring pops off and i just get a giant leak.

does anyone know why iits doing this.

dwell 21
lpr basically as far enough to fully cycle it id say around 4
using lurker lube or dow 33

usually overpressure blows the top hat oring.
lower your lpr. only need 3 turns on it.

chrono speed is 290 approx.

ya thats what i thought at first, was it being over pressurized, so i backed down the hpr, but when i got to the field to chrono i needed to up it.

and also its not exactly 4 turns, and not sealing at 3. i really dont know how many turns its at, i just know when it seals, and if i try to turn it lower it starts leaking.

Put a 90 hardness oring in instead of a 70. It may be truning the 014/70 which caused bolt stick or the oring blowing off, so the 90 would be a good fix. Did this to my stock bolt before I purchased a BWING bolt.

change the #10 oring on the LPR adjuster brass and check the small LPR oring inside the LPR body. try that and see

It does not blow off because the LPR is too high, it blows off because the HPR (and consequently pressure in the shot chamber) is too high. Replace the o-ring with the correct size and turn down the HPR pressure.

If turning down the HPR to stop the problem means you can't get to 290fps, double check your dwell setting. And I'm assuming you have a stock, unmodified bolt?

ya i knew it was hpr not lpr. ill try turning it down. my dwell is at 18 and ive tried it at 21 and it did it with both settings.

no mods either on the bolt.

Just make sure it is the correct size o-ring. Normally with stock dwell settings and normal paint, the velocity will go up to around 350fps+ before the pressure is high enough to blow out that o-ring.

Are you positive you're using the correct size o-ring?

Sounds like good old reg creep to me. Replace your HPR reg seat. A full LPR lubing might help as well.
