~~~ An all Iowan Xball team~~~
Ok guys, I've had this idea for awhile but am now recently thinking I need to put it into effect.
First off my name is Adam everyone calls me Pink. I played for Evil Empire a couple years ago. We played D3 Xball and did a few PSP events as well as some 7man stuff. Some of the old EE team members are now playing for KW Factory.
Iowa has some great ballers, some of the best have come out of this forsaken cornfield. What I want to do is take the best players in the state and develop one of the strongest teams to ever come out of Iowa. There are a lot of you out there that want to play big league but can't due to roster limits. Well I feel if we combine our forces, we could be a dominant team in the PSP.
It would be cool to see two teams start off in D2 and D3 as well as some 5 man feeder/farm teams. We can play most if not all events. There are plenty of teams and fields in the area to scrimmage against in order to improve tournament necessary skills.
The way I see this working is that we rotate practices between different fields throughout the state so that traveling isn't a huge hassle for team members. We can possibly work out some deals with the fields in the area for scrimmages/practices. Traveling can be made easier via carpool.
Right now this is these are just the basic ideas. I feel that if we can get a solid team together and really start rolling people, we can possibly get some sponsorship deals to help ease our budgets.
What do you all think? Does this sound like a decent idea or am I just nuts? haha
Thanks for takin the time to read this.
- Adam
Sounds good, but chances of it working out are like 2%.
People showing up traveling the $$ needed. Good luck. You've seen what the $$ committment to EE was. How many guys were done after the 2nd event financially...They couldn't afford to practice 2x a week and play at an event.
Well we did about 3 big events and a few smaller tournaments like CTS.
I feel that if we get people committed who have the funds, then itll weed out out some people who cant. The ones who can make it big have the determination. Plus practicing consistently 2x a week might be excessive. It would be worked out in the end, but I do appreciate your opinion, thanks man
Great idea and concept. Biggest problem is the field centrally located where people can make practice with minimal impact on finances that would effect national level commitments. Hope it works, Bill
$$ is a huge thing, I haven't updated my books in a month or so, but my team has spent well over 20,000 dollars, playing this year. that number comes from paint and entry only, (not travel, hotel, food, or anything my 2nd team has spent.) we played 3 psp's 7 vicious events. and we still have a few more tourney's on our schedule for this year. This also includes at least one practice everyweekend. Also I get about as good of a deal on paint as anyone.
Also you can't plan starting multi teams at one time, it's just to much work you really need to start with one team and build on that.
Also its going to be imposible to get the best players in the state to quit there current team, if there is no major sponsor invovled.
all that being said, I have an opening for a team captain on one of my teams if you want to talk about that pm me.
Good luck with what ever you do
love
This is a grate idea, you will be makeing a lot of big city teams mad...the only resion i say this is because when i was home on R&R i was in so cal and placed first in a one one one ternament and all i herd was "how the F*** did we let the farm boy win?" and random crap like that and one person even dropkicked his gun it was funny. My point is it is going to be really nice seeing a team from iowa beat the crap out of the big city teams and have then never see it comeing. Wish i was in the states to see it or try out when i get back i will be down to do whatever and give you someone to practice agenst
there is an all iowa all star team, that kicked the crap out of big city teams, that no one saw coming. it happened at the chicago open last year. but i can't quite remember what the name of that team was. nor do i remember anyone calling them farm boys.
love
