how to pick what gun to buy?

I want to buy a good gun that is reliable. i dont know what to look for in a gun, or how much guns should cost or anything. all i know is that i want a pump but i dont know where to start, where to go, what gun to pick. how do you guys usually choose?

I guess its ok to offer advise on what I do. I usually try to get a gun like what im going to buy first and shoot it. If you can try to let the store/person who's selling you the gun if you can shoot it/play with it first before you dedicate yourself to buying it. If you dont try it your taking a shot in the dark like I did with my Etek purchase. I was deciding between the etek and a proto and with Planet Eclipse's bad *** stuff I went with them and Im really glad I did because I've ended up almost hating proto's. So theres my 2 cents.

oh okay. thanks do stores usually let you shoot it?

if your local field has a shop they normally do, or if they have the gun to rent that'll do as well.
also, not to try and sway your opinion or anything, but i really like my legend from infinitylegend.com and i think they also have a pump gun as well.

Usually my store lets you shoot it before you buy it and if someone at the field has the gun you want use that one cause its more than likely more broken in and you might find for example, a brand new ego will kick more than a broken in ego, so instead of buying the gun that kicks new you buy a gun that you might not like later.

I think I'll get a proto since I want the AM version of the Etek and its about 600. The PMR is AM and is 450

I had a Rail with the UL frame and I liked it a lot.
I have owned the G3 and the PMR I like the PMR more.
The best advice is to shoot both guns

The Azodin Kaos Pump is pretty good, I'm gonna buy one myself soon as a backup (Yes,a pump would be my backup[I only use my backup if my SLG{soon to be PMR} doesn't work, otherwise, if it works, I either put it in my "special" hiding spot in my car or if my parents dont stay since my friends dad stays to watch and play I put in another special hiding spot in their car.

Really, if you want a pump, get a Kaos Pump
