Espo's Hitmen Pump Mod

So I recently go into pump A LOT. I love it and everything about it. I would love to try out the Hitmen mod for my 05 prostock and so I decided to build one. I went to Home Depot (love that place) and bought a piece of plexiglass that was 1/8 in thick and was about 4" x 8" and picked up some 10/32 bolts that were about 1/4" long.

(This was after I made my first cut)

Then I used my Dremel (well my Black and Decker knock off) and cut a piece that was about 5" x 1 1/2". If you look on my cutting mat, you can see the rough numbers.

Then using my dremel, I drew the shape I wanted and started sanding it down until the shape was achieved.

The edges look rough and uneven only because of the plastic coating on the top and bottom of the piece.

More pics before I hit the sack...

And...

And yes... I know my workstation is ghetto. But hey I don't have a workshop, so I need to make due.

*****UPDATE*****

Here are some finished pics of it installed on my gun. Sorry about the poor quality.

After installing it, I took it off. While the shape and feel is EXACTLY what I thought it would be, the 1/8" Plexiglas is too flexible. I was possibly thinking about doubling it up or trying it again with a thicker piece.

Cool idea but I think you may want a bend in it like a trigger. Seems to be comfy that way.

Not sure if you've ever worked with Plexiglas before but bending it, is not really an option. But I do know what you mean. I was thinking about using either metal bars or Plexiglas and had I went with the metal bars, I would have definitely bent it.

Oh yeah I wasn't saying to bend the plexi. I had a friend make mine and he used a sheet of magnesium! Its sooo light.

Nice man. Yeah, not sure if i'll want the bend or not. I'll try it out this weekend and see how it feels.

You should be able to bend the plexi, just heat it up a lot. Looks nice, you are giving me some ideas...

Thanks. It wasn't hard, just very time consuming. I think I spent a total of 2-3hrs getting that piece to where it is today. In terms of cost. I can probably make a lot of these from the $3 piece of Plexiglas I bought.

Did you get the plexi from anywhere special, or just a home depot/lowes

Home Depot its near the lumber section but usually is in the back in a corner away from all the wood.

I like the concept. I dremmeled down a WGP hinge trigger to make one for mine.

Keep us updated with the progress on it and how it feels on the field.

Looking good man. Getting close to what mine looks like. Mine is from Team Hooptie though, props on making yours yourself.

If I were you, I'd make it a bit thinner, and leave it clear. That's just me though. Good work!

If you do decide to bend it I believe Lexan is a thermoset which means it can only be heated and bent once. You might want to take a small test piece and try to figure out how much heat it's going to take before you do it on the finished piece. I also believe it cools fairly quickly so you'll want to figure out how long you have to get the proper bend.

Yeah, i'm not going to mess around with the heating and bending. I would hate to melt off a piece after spending a while working on it.

maybe sheet metal would suffice? or some sort of compressed wood? Doubt that would work though, lol.

The metal might be a nice idea. It might add a good amount of weight tho.

In the future I'll play around with making another piece of Plexiglas and see how that feels. And I'll also try some other ideas (like metal to reinforce it)

Thanks for the feedback everyone!
