Getting into pump.

I am looking to get into pump to save money because I cant afford case after case of paint every weekend.

So I was wondering if it is worth it to sell my speedball gun to get money for a phantom or other pump

no, this is what I was told by one of my friends when I contemplated quitting. With how much you pay for your gun brand new you are lucky to get 1/2 of what you paid for you gear brand new. Because then when you want to start playing again youll have to spend alot more to get brand new gear. Just put your gun in your closet for a few months and when you want to play speedball every once in awhile you still will have a gun

Well in reality that's something "you" will have to decide on. I traded my 08 Ego for an S6 and have no regrets. Yes, you will save on paint & should be able to play more often. If you know someone that has a pump, ask if you can try it for some games & go from there.

I hope so. I'm really excited to start playing after playing with my friend's phantom and seeing how much paint it saves.

You should have one semi, one mechanical semi, one good pump gun like an open class gun of some kind, and one stock class gun. But the temptation will be there to use the semi. So maybe it would be nice to get rid of the semi and your gearbag and get a pump gun to reintroduce yourself to the sport.

Open class pump gun (200 round hopper and a bulk gas tank) will be the easiest way and will give you some room to move around the field.

Stock class pump gun is really hard but also really exhilarating since there's the tenseness that goes with reloading 10 rounds and 12-grams in the middle of a firefight.

That's all I can tell ya

BTW you will be saving bucket loads of money and saving mad paint. If you have a couple of cases, you will be holding onto those cases for a long, long time. And 12-Grams, too. If you have a couple of boxes of 12-grams you will be holding onto those for a long time. Buy the best paint and you will be having a fun time. Crappy paint will ruin the experience for you.

I traded my 06 nexus ego and I have never played with a semi in about 3 years and never look back. Also like ErikT said take the money you save and buy the best paint you can crappy paint sucks when you need that one shot.

I did lol, I converted my autococker. And that was my only semi so I pretty much put semi down too. I used a semi a little while ago but I didn't really like it. I needed the Pump action lol

I tend to go along with this principle myself. Of course I'm a bit of a gun hoarder, so one electro, one mech, and a pump is just the bare minimum I'll take to the field. Often you'll find everything from mechanical full autos (at the occasional field that lets me use them, never against the new players of course), to semi auto pistols, to sling shots in my gear bag, and everything in between. I think my record last year was 7 guns used in one day.

Dont sell it yet. The first time you play pump you may not like it. It definetly takes some getting used to. At least it did for me, I have an ego and a rotor in the closet I have not used in about a year. I plan on keeping the semi but dont plan on useing it anytime soon, When you do sell it use the $ to buy another pump gun as a backup.
