BEST way to tune your impulse 09
After email correspondances with Sean, and my conversation with Hans(head of engineer department of smart parts)
this is the best way to tune your impulse 09!!!
1. Set your stock dwell to default 8
2. Turn up the LPR ALOT-pretty much all the way out...
why? max cap pressure is around 60-65psi (this is a prevention of people messing with lpr) and you only need roughly 50psi to get optimal) (note screwing grub all the way in makes it 35psi)
3. Gas up and Chrono with HPR to 320fps
4. Turn down LPR until it shoots about 305-310 fps
5. Then use the HPR to turn it down to regulation speed.
This is the best for your particular gun... DO NOT COMPARE your number of turns out with other people's turns out... you will not tune your marker if you do... every impulse functions the same way, however no two markers are alike... you want quiet, you want consistency, you want optimal settings... this is the best "recommended" way...

Sweet, really hadnt messed with mine too much over the chrono because of me getting to the field late the past few weeks. Used it in a tourney last weekend and ended up settling with my FPS around 260 cause I couldn't get it to go consistently(every 4th shot or so would spike +/- 20). I will try this this weekend and see what I can come up with.
Good info, thinking the other threads on this were saying like 2 turns out or so.

I know what you mean.. I was following that for a while on all my impulses.. and last weekend was the weekend that I needed my guns... when I shot the two I noticed a huge huge difference... so, I needed to make the inquiries...
...I'm glad that I was able to ask the right people...

so yeah... try it out... once you bring your lpr within range 305-310 you should never have to touch that again...

I'm glad it helps... tomorrow I will try to find my impulse's sweet spot by adjusting the dwell settings... for those who do not know how to do this... easiest starting point is to:
1. set your marker according to the above settings and lowering your dwell to say 4 or 5...
2. fire paintballs untill you have determined a fps range... ex. 290 with +/-20 range...
3. increase your dwell by 1ms and determine a new fps range ex 290 fps with +/- 15
4. continue increasing your dwell by 1ms until you tighten the range until it's +/-2 fps (for example)
5. after you have a tight +/- range (according to your preference) your initial 290fps(for example) may have changed (because increasing dwell will affect fps) you will adjust your hpr screw (clockwise to decrease fps... or counter clockwise to increase fps - don't touch your lpr(once it's set, you should never have to touch that again))
6. congrats your impulse is sweet spotted

Tried it today and it worked great. +/- 5fps which should be pretty good considering the red label paint I was using. Shoots great. Thanks

i sweet spotted my impulses today!!! wahooo!!! i'm hoping to borrow a carmera to make some vids... but one impulse is dwelled at 7, and one impulse is dwelled at 10... fps target was 290
i used the 7 dwelled impulse all day and it's super super SUPER awesome...!!! chrono 10 v1 balls using freak 0.684 all fps were 290 or 291... literally a +1 fps... and after 3 cases of paint at the end of the day - chrono was 293 and +1 on occasion...
i didn't play with impulse dwelled at 10, but that's a +/-3 fps initial which was still nice... i'll test it out next week...

Yea I got my buddy to help me sweet spot mine wiht this tecnique, Worked perfect. Shooting 290ish, Couple hot because its not throughly broke in yet and a couple odd sized balls, (year+ old paint) Thanks! Never really knew how to tune it before because its hard to do with 2 regs unless you have some sortof technique. Look at my youtube video and subs! Be making more videos the summer!
