x-7 phenom velocity issue

I have a brand New Phenom used only one day but i have a issue that is bugging the crap out of me.

The velocity of the gun jumps dramaticly on evey single shot.

INFO
Stock x-7 phenom
Gorilla 48cu 3000psi myth reg
or
Pure energy 68cu 3000psi

Field fps limit 260

Velocity will just from 220 to 260 then back to 230 then to 260 then to 220 then to 260

this happens after each shot so its really annoying when trying to hit someone and half the times the balls dont break or reach the target.

I had to swith back to my ego due to the inconsistant firing.

what do i need to look at on this gun

could it be just that the paint is off sized and thats the reason for difference in FPS?

my buddy just got his and he had the same issues but it was only 10fps differences roughly, which im pretty sure was the paint.

im not sure if those markers have a break in period?

I hope its just a breakin period, and i wish it was just a 10fps difference but this was huge and rather annoying.

I took apart the gun and lubed it up i will try it again in a couple of weeks this time i will use two different brands of paint and see if there is a difference.

this gun can not be more finiky then my ego and it had no issues with the paint

I'm assuming it was brand new out of the box. As with any marker, the reg. needs to be broken in. Fire a couple tanks worth of air through it and it will be fine after that.

thats one thing i am hopeing it would be, my ego's breakin period was not this bad or consistant

Yeah, your comparing an ego to a tippmann, that might be the problem right there. It seems to me the tippmann is too much gun for you.

I'm having the same issue. One thing you may want to look at is the flex valve. There is a threaded component (see page 19 of manual - Item 61) that may be loose. In addition, after 8,000-10,000 shots, the manual recommends greasing the regulator piston (item 63). I did this, and it helped. The other item I found that was effecting performance was the ball detent (ball lock - See item 10 on pg. 21 of manual). was broken. Hope this helps.
