Help choosing a good book?

Ok well I hope this isnt TOO "do my homework"-ish, but I need to find a book for my English 12 class and I dont know what to choose. I HATE reading, Im fairly sure I have some sort of attentiondisorder and I cannot read more than say 10 pages a night unless Im realy interested in it. So I was wondering if anyone here has a good idea for a book to read.

Only catch is it has to be a british author.

I would really appreciate it if you had any good helpful suggestions.

A Clockwork Orange is short, and its a good read.

Harry Potter.

Orwell's 1984 is a good read too.
