Older impulse air passage question

so i just picked up a strange vision, and when i looked down the hole where the tapeworm would be, there is something that looks like a screen of some sort folded over and lodged in there. is that required for proper use of the marker, or can i pull it out and not replace it?

I believe that is the air filter. This is not required as many imps have had them removed.

it is a filter screen. however it shouldnt be folded at all. you should be able to see straight through the tube. and yes it will run fine without it. best with HP. Co2 is garbage....

i use air so no worries there. but i pulled it out and its a long screen like tube that runs the length of the airway. when i had posted my question originally, i thought it was a screen, like a pipe screen (perpendicular to the tube walls). anyway this can be removed with no issues with performance? i do use air. CO2

If anything, you might see an increase in consistency if the tube was kinked previously.

I had that happen when I first bought my Rat imp.

When I took one of them out one time, I found that it had a bunch of teflon tape in it. I figured that it saved the noid, so now I just leave them in.
