I would think it would be a great opportunity for the PSP northeast regional league (ran by Jeff Stein of the NE Hurricanes) to try to snatch up all the ex-AXBL teams and invite them into the newly created series. Details on the PSP northeast league are few and are likely still forming, but I'd be surprised if Mr. Stein wasn't a little bit excited about this turn of events. Instead of having to compete with another large Xball league in this area, he can get a bunch of quality, orphaned teams practically handed to him.
Hopefully the ex-AXBL teams will get some news in the near term so they can make smart decisions on where to play this season. Of course, there is always the existing, high quality new england leagues and NYPL to help fill in the gap. The PSP's 2010 announcements look very promising and all this craziness may work out better in the end. Maybe Mr. Stein can post up some initial info here? If there is a way the new league can make use of existing Xball-friendly, AXBL fields (e.g. R&M, etc), that would be even better.
Whatever happens, good luck to everyone this season. I don't think paintball is done quite yet...
