Geo and reballs
Hi, I have a hurricanes geo. It's has the gr2 but no gst. I used it to play with reballs and it worked for a little while but then I noticed it skipping shots and it sounded like air comming out the grip frame. I've used it since then with paint and it rips. So I'm asking what cH I do to use this with reballs or atleast an explanation of what is happening. Thx for any advice/info.

Get the ST kit stat. It was made to make the Geo work properly with reballs.

Correct.
The stock bolt can create suction around a reball and cause it not to fire properly. The revised bolt face on the ST kit allows it to shoot reballs without creating suction with the prop shaft.

To give you an idea of exactly what is happening, take out your bolt kit, push the bolt all the way down, seal the tip of the bolt with your finger, and while still sealing the tip of the bolt, use your other fingers to pull the bolt forwards. As xluben stated, you'll feel suction on your finger tip, and the bolt will try and pull back.
That is exactly the situation that occurs with Reballs - the material the ball is made of, and the exact size (and hence curvature) of the ball is such that it seals the tip of the bolt, and the vacuum created as the bolt starts to move forward resists the bolt's movement, leading to cycling issues.

another problem with reball and the stock engine is that you have to lower the inline reg pressure too low to reach the legal velocities for reball. Therefore you get drop off and burping issues. The volume reducer allows you to keep the same reg pressure but lower the velocity to the proper limit.
