Before this gets a tiny bit silly are we forgetting the point that this is a game..... not some exact science and all we can do as refs is give a honest translation of how we understand/interpret the rules during a live game in a fair manner.

All refs have "heard" shots and I must have heard thousands and when I do I check the player and if I see any paint that I believe could have been left from what "heard" he would be gone.
If I failed to find any he would still be a live player and I would let him continue.

Are we now saying that bouncers also count as valid hits...... because if it does not leave any paint that is what it is....... Maybe

Ok hearing the shot hit the hopper and calling the player out is bs. Plain and simple he didnt see it and he even stated that according to the orignal post. if he had seen the painball break then fine it would have been more justified. but he dint so end of story he was wrong. Now the one for one thing was really bs and i feel that that was more of a power trip than anything. obvisouly the player saw no paint on his hopper and thought he was still good.

Unless your like rainman status and can hear the difference between a bounce and a break.

youd be suprised on how many people can do this. and its not newbie refs its the guys that have been around for awhile
