looking for a "realistic" training weapon

As it appears, any real firearm worth a damn has its own airsoft variant, or a dozen. what I am wondering is if anyone has experience enough with airsoft and real firearms to make a suggestion for an accurate gas pistol platform that would actually hit what the sights were aimed at up to 25ft or so.

No price range, I am looking to use it for some force on force training at my gun club, and many of use are starting to get into it with the shoothouse we have.

KWA makes good stuff and they have a whole range of models from USPs to 1911s.

Tokyo Marui also makes good gas guns but they are mostly plastic. Good internals though and you can buy metal frames/slides for them.

can you speak to the accuracy of either? like i said, a long hallway will be the longest shot, it just needs to point realistically, without the muzzle an inch higher than the rear

Both companies are accurate but you will also need to use a nice weighty BB.

Agreed I and my team use kwa 1911s they can be an effective alternative to just going out to the shoothouse with blanks because u are actually getting hit by something inlike blanks. I woul reccomend them any day over blanks.

I just bought a KWA usp P8. I'd definately take KWA over Tokyo Marui.

Those of us out here in NM have had a lot of luck WE-TECH pistols. Very nice feel to them. I also second anything from KWA/KSC, i have one of there older P92 Gas Blow-Backs and it still shoots nice. The only thing I have done on it was replace the o-rings it.

we techs are terrible quality, as always Tokyo Marui makes amazing guns, but if youre going to be using green gas then you'll need new magazines, as stock tokyo marui guns arent meant to handle green gas, rather hfc134a.
if you want realism, marushin makes some shell ejecting guns, a cz75, kimber 1911, and a glock 21

I dont need shell ejecting, but I was curious more so to find one that will have a decent trajectory at the length of my house. I intend to use it for simulating shooting indoors, as well as presentation/shooting drills at close range.

Some have mentioned that the triggers are often similar to their real counterparts, within reason. Having this would be nice, as well as holster compatibility.

I would like to use propane as a fuel.

A few years ago, Airsoft-Innovations tested a number of green gas's from different companies. It turned out that green gas was propane with different "scents" added to it. Some of the green gas out there is marked that it contains a lubricant, in which it does. Depending on the fill adapter that you get, some are better than others in allowing you to put some of you favorite lubricant into the air reserve with the propane.

Now to some all that up in one sentence - Green gas is propane.

Here is the information for you:

I dont wanna say the content of the gas is a non issue, but I would like to be able to fill the gun from a propane bottle, a readily available item.

I would like to avoid the more expensive, or seemingly more, green gas cans.

All other things aside, TM seems to be the way to go.

They don't make the propane tank with the fill nipple already one it. All that you need is buy a propane fill nipple that screws onto one of the small propane tanks that you run a camp stove with. The fill nipple can be taken on and off and run in the neighborhood of 15-30 bucks, depending on where you buy it and who made it.

I agree KWA are very popular in our store. The Socom Gear make some nive airsoft handguns as well. I personally like the Novak.

The KWA pistols seem to be a bit more popular because of the double stack and the Co2 mags that you can put through them. If you go the Co2 route be sure to upgrade your tigger/seer because Co2 will wear the stock one out in a hurry.

for a good blowback pistol, i recommend a KWA 1911. these will take up much more gas, as well as being a bit more inaccurate than a non blowback. for a non blowback i recommend buying http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=3791 its the best non blowback on the market atm IMO.

I'm a complete airsoft noob but I saw this thread and immediately opened a link
to KWA's website, and if you look at their products list, you'll see they have three
"PTP's", or Professional Training Pistols. They have an M9, M9 Tactical, and a 1911.

Just tryin ta help ya out... lol
