I say no... I listen to everything. Even though it may say some things that aren't very "christian" I think God could care less, because it isn't effecting the way I live or talk. If you start to like cuss a lot like they do then I would say yes.

Im not making fun, i guess what i mean to say is that there are SO many other things that could or should be considerd as sin. I guess its a point of view kind of thing.

This discussion might be easier if you listed a few examples of supposedly "sinful" music, just to help get the ball rolling.

The catholic church banned polyphony in the 14th century.

It's all relative.

Well the reason I asked is not that I care if it is considered a sin I was just curious. Oh well the music i have been listening to is The Devil Wears Prada and Attack Attack. Both Christian bands. But now i have gotten into Bring Me The Horizon. So I guess that would be the music Im asking about

sinful according to what religion? i'm assuming you mean christianity... also, i really don't think it's that silly a question.
as a christian, i would say it depends on the person doing the listening. ask yourself what you are getting out of the music, why you are listening to it, and how (if) it is affecting your thoughts and actions. then ask if those answers would line up with biblical teaching.
in some instances, i would say it depends on the situation. are you around nonchristians you could be witnessing to? how does the music affect your witness? are you around christians new or young in the faith who might be caused to stumble by your choice of music?
lastly, particularly if you are engaged in the music and not just listening to it as a kind of white noise, does it meet the criteria in philippians 4:8? does it, at the least, not contradict those?
really, there are no "types" of music i would completely block out. there are a few types of music i don't care for (an issue of taste), and there are types of music that tend to hold more songs i won't listen to (or at least play intentionally). but nothing i would stereotype as sinful.

Just do yourself a favor and stay away from the Iron Maiden and you'll be fine. I wouldn't get to attached to any Manson, Nails or Ozzy either.

I don't personally consider any type of music a sin. However, I'm not a Christian.
Some Christians bring up a good point, though. Why listen to negative things when you could be listening to positive things? It's similar to eating junk food when you could be eating health food. Sugary sweets are bad only if you're irresponsible with them (eating a ton of them, not brushing, etc.). Similarly, if you're irresponsible and allow music to influence your actions, then violent music can be considered a bad choice.

If you're a Christ Follower and you're worried about it then don't listen to it. If you are having to justify it or have others justify it for you it's a strong indication you know you shouldn't be listening to it but you just want to feel good about your decision to. Garbage in garbage out. What you put into your head be it music, movies, video games, etc. will come out in your life and your life as a Christ Follower is the only representation of Jesus many will ever see.
