To have a D3 this event or not. That is the question.

A verdict has been reached.

Ok, so here's basically the choices:

1) Have a D3 this event using the "double round robin" format.

2) Don't have a D3.

It's that simple. Vote on it.

Only people who are on a D3 team should be voting in this poll as they will be the only people this effects.

As much as i would love to play one of these events, it is down right silly to pay an entry fee, buy god knows how many FPO cases of paint. Pay for gas, Hotel, food and all of the rest of expenses that comes a long with playing an event. Especially an xball event.

Just to address some arguments before they happen. I know someone will say "well this is good practice for the summer msxl, Xball practice at that. Good experence" While this is true, it is pointless. you can have the exact same sort of practice at your local field, For a lot less i may add. A stopwatch isnt to hard to operate. and thats all you really need for an xball match.

The d3 teams that are not able to play d4 this event should just put their funds towards a decent practice with another xball team in the area.

For future events, Try making a division where the majority of teams in the area can play. with the exception of only the top players in this area EVERYONE could play d3. so maybe the indoor event , which didnt count for any points or anything, should have been d3. This would give the d4 guys a chance to see what a division higher would be like, and let them know where they stand as far as skill level. which in turn would let them know what division they should play in 2010.

Truth.

I voted yes because I simply want to play. It is cold as hell outside and wouldn't mind running some points against some of these guys in a nice indoor facility. I was a little disappointed that they are running the matches on the 3-man fields but it is better than nothing. Regardless of the decision it needs to be made in the next day or so because we have guys from FL making plans to come up and it would be unfortunate for it to be cancelled after hotel reservations are already made, time off work, etc.

And what will this help? Spending extra money to play in a tournament like setting?

Spend that money at your local field and buy twice as much paint, and im sure way less of an entry fee.

I'm not trying to bash the idea for having a d3 division or this league at all, Just trying to point out obvious points that are being overlooked with the lure of playing an xball tournament.

there will be more msxls in the next coming months. Ones on Regulation size xball fields. if you cannot play d4 use your time and money to prepare for these. Which will actually count towards something. Assuming there is a decent series prize like last year.

as stated in my first post. i would love to play this event. especially considering my ranking going to d1, The odds of me having another chance to play a local xball event anytime soon are slim. I am not trying to ruin it for anyone, just pointing out the obvious. If this event does happen, I will play.

My thoughts exactly as stated in my other posts. this is the smarter avenue to take. although some cannot see this.

Price Drop

Guys MSXL is already less than half the entry of other X-Ball style events. What if we drop the entry AND Payout to the same as D-4? Would that help? I hate to see you guys not play.

Team Captains/Managers PM me.

Yeah, Noopy. Party pooper. Even though everything you said makes perfect sense.

I'd like to play too but three teams is too few to have a tournament. I realize the affordability of MSXL (which is great), but regardless, participating in a thee team tournament would be less productive and far more expensive than a practice.

Some of you D4 teams should step up and play a division higher.

Also, I highly doubt that this Noopy character, whoever he may be, would ruin it for all of us simply by posting. It is the teams not playing ruining it.

Just sayin...

I really hope it works out. I'd love to come out and play the event. The MSXL dudes seem to have it going on with a pretty good series... and I was looking forward to getting gnarly with Black Ice.

so what are the dementions of this field. 3 teams is way to little to have an xball tourney imo..not that my opinion matters.

I wish the turnout would've been better but I'm looking forward to it just the same. See you other 2 teams there.
