NME upgrade --> front block, LPR, HPR project

Just got myself an NME complete with box, manual, etc in a trade.
Starting to become a marker glutton.

Just couldn't pass up this deal locally

Can't wait to open her up and lube all the o-ring before I air her up.
Been sitting in the box all this time (so I've been told).

Manual doesn't say too much in terms of disassembly and maintenance.
Thank goodness for the internet. Gotta love those step by step pics and vids!

Thank you to all those that took their time and posting their how to's!!!

Makes it really easy for newbs like myself!

Thanks!
I've been intently looking at the manual as well as the stickies on the thread.
Finished up taking her apart and relubing her. Aired her up for a few shots the other day just to confirm all was working then today after messing around with the settings.

As it turns out, I have an older board which doesn't have the firing modes. Oh well.. not too important but just searching for an equalink leads to dead threads and dead ends....

I hope it's not the board
From what I've been reading the earlier NMEs had the older firmware and needed to be upgraded to have the different firing modes. The gun was firing just fine on SEMI when I got it.

Yeah, I liked the look of the NME when I saw a pic of it in an ad. When I picked it up however, I wasn't too thrilled about the screws sticking out a bit from the HPR and the external hose on the LPR.

Although I'm happy with the marker, I'm actually considering replacing the LPR/HPR to something similar to more recent markers.
Just seems so much research and searching to try to find which parts will fit with little to no modification

Ok, received the LPR, front block, and HPR a few days ago.

After quite some time sanding while watching reruns of CSI, I finally was able to fit the Timmy front block in the NME frame.
Will go to a buddy of mine who has a tap and will hopefully have the block tapped tomorrow.
Also realized that the barb hole on the Timmy is too small for the NME barb. Local PB store didn't have any timmy barbs. Might have to have the barb hole tapped as well

Here are the pics of the progress in case present/future owners of an NME are interested in this mod.
Through my research, I have only seen one pic and it was the finished product.

LOL, I think I'm having more fun messing with the gun than actually firing it

Yes, the WAS board is the board put in the NMEs

Gorgeous NME. I wanted a black and grey LE but can't find one to buy. Now have a dust olive one and might be getting a black/yellow one today!

i've been through three of em. two of them got sold to friends so i still see them on the field to this day! one thing i did come across recently was them chopping paint. best way to fix it was sand the top of the bolt so it doesn't have that sharp edge on top hitting the ball stack after every cycle. Other than that...my love for the NME still goes strong!!!! lol

Thank you! I really like how it looks... so much better than in the pictures because of that glossy finish on it. Honestly, I feel so guilty about even thinking to upgrade it.

Yeah, it is hard to come across an NME that fits what you like without some luck.
I managed to pick this one up from the same seller for very cheap (traded a PSP for it)!!!
It came stock and a bit dirty, but cleaned her up and upgraded it.

Still not finished, but hopefully will be ready soon. I can use it right now, but just want to change a few more parts (but it's hard to come by the parts in the forums). It's been so hectic that I would imagine that it will be finished in 1-2 months

Haha, good one.
I think mine is just starting
I really like the way you can upgrade the parts (if you can find them). Much more tinkering involved than the DP fusion I have. I think the NME has become my main gun instead of the backup

I have three NME's, a Gun Metal LE like your's, an Olive LE, and a black to red fade non-LE. They are all amazing!

Both of the LEs are stock. Not much to change... the non LE has a Plamer Rock LPR (screws right into the NME volumizer) and a lever lock feedneck, and System X slider ASA.

Maybe I'll post up some pictures later.

Nice! I didn't know you still had so many.
I don't think my gunmetal one is an LE though. It's not milled by the ram sleeve like the silver/black one I have.
Am I correct in distinguishing between them?

Yep I love NMEs and I'm always on the look out for more :-)

The LE has a window cut out of it so you can see the RAM sleeve. The eye covers also come to a point. The non-LE does not have the window and the eye covers are rounded instead of pointy. Also the non-LE has a little hump on the top tube right behind the bolt. Also on the non-LE trigger frame, the little decorative swirls right below where the trigger frame meets the body stand out more.

First picture below is an LE, second is not.

I looked at the sticky but the solenoid links are dead. =(

I might get to test the gun tonight or tomorrow night. So the way to know for sure if the sole is dead is... ?

well I haven't had a problem with my solenoid (yet), buy know one way to make sure it is clicking is to have the marker on with eyes off. Listen for a click by the noid when you press the trigger. If there is no click it is safe to say it is dead.

I think I saw some one in the bst with a Humphrey noid. I think that works with the nme. Double check me on that though.
