It's been explained here a few times, so I won't go in to great detail, but long story short, when Planet were deciding whether to release CCU kits this year for the Ego9 and Geo, it became apparent that they weren't likely to sell in the sort of numbers that would make them commercially viable. Planet don't want to make lots of kits in lots of colours, tie up lots of money in stock, just for the kits to then sit on the shelf. So, no CCU kits.

Also most people would not like a ccu kit without a matching inlinereg swivel.
Delivering a Swivel in a kit produces lots of problems because there are too many people out there who can't change the swivel in a save and correct way without damaging parts or hurt them self.
It's a really simple process, but somehow still a lot of people can't manage to do it correctly.
So its a wise decition to keep problems away.

here is a direct response from jack on the subject of individual anno jobs...
***background*** i had asked jack about getting a marker done either by PE or through the graphics and anno guys they use...

Is this just a 1-off gun that you want, or is it for more than 1 gun? Manpower is the problem we have with doing custom guns. They take up a ot of time and resources. But there is certainly no harm in asking Ledz if it is something he would consider doing.
Have a good Christmas and New Year. Be safe, and see you next year!

It would slow down their production rates too much if everyone was custom ordering guns

I think this thread is a good example of why paintball can never gain the status of other sports, too much bickering and too much negativity. I think catering to the customers would be a fantastic idea, I'm less than impressed with the Ego10 color combos.

Agreed, but as ego09boi stated, I just don't think it would be practical in production terms if lots of people took the custom colour option. Having the option to mix and match a range of standard colours to make up your own colour schemes might be more practical, but I do think that personalised anodising on a one by one basis would hold things up.

Mix and matching shouldn't be hard at all, the parts are already anno'd separately in bulk batches.

hi guys. the way i see it. it's not that impossible if for example they open a vote to the fans and then make a people choice. one in the entire line would be the color that the fans picked. so it's not like they are doing one offs all the time its just one of the color combos and it was picked before production starts by a popular vote. i work in advertising and this is a tactic that is being adopted by many companies e.g. doritos with their superbowl commercials witch is an idea proposed by a fan. so not only would it be a first in the paintball industrie it would also help them have a no fail choice since a lot of people voted for it. it could be as simple as them giving us the choice of picking one color combo from 5. like M&M did when they introduced blue by a popular choice. maybe its not something that they want to do right now but its something worth looking at. also companies are always hurting for some extra $$$. just my $5 hehehe.

The good old colour scheme question hey
Sadly Jack and I have little say in what colour schemes actually make it to production, as these are rightly dictated by "Sales" and what they feel customers will ultimately want.
Furthermore, some of the more "radical" suggested colour schemes are reserved for limited editions such as any SL models later that year.
It's a tough subject as colour schemes are subject to such a wide array of preferences that it's impossible to please everyone all of the time. That said, we do seem to struggle to keep the Blinks on the shelves

Didn't you only bid up to about $4k or so?
I think Mike had one of the first Brown/Black swaps as well
