I think they absolutely do. Alabama probably looked at Florida as the toughest game all year, basically as their national title game. Alabama could have a little bit of a let down against Texas.
I still think Alabama is better and that they will win, but I think Texas has as good a chance as any other team.

As a football fan in general, I'm going to say no. They lack an effective running game that can keep the bama defense off balance. It is essentially up to colt mccoy to outscore the bama offense and he can't do that. I can't make a comment upon texas' chance on defense since I haven't watched them play but I'm going to go with the fact that you can't win if you can't score.

Honestly, what reason is there to believe that TX even has a chance, based on what we've all seen this season?
*edit*
I can't think of a single statistic that will support their cause in all of this.

Well really IMO, if Texas can stop the run AKA Ingram, they may have a shot. Bama's passing game isnt the best in the country.
and Texas's offense will have to step it up big time.

I think Texas has a chance if they play the football they are known for. If they show up like they did against Nebraska, Alabama can play their worst game and still win.
They also need to play all four quarters. Something they haven't done this year.
If not the beastly SEC will claim another victim.

Bama will make it four in a row for the SEC. If Texas plays like they did against Nebraska, it'll be ugly and lol worthy.

Yeah they may, but that sounds highly improbable w/ TX ranking like... 94th in the nation in defensive tackles, and Mark Ingram being quite possibly, THE hardest player in college football to bring down
My guess: 3rd and short's gonna suck for TX...

Well nobody really gave them a chance 4 years ago against USC and look at how that turned out?
Texas seems to play a lot better when they are heavy underdogs.
I think they have a chance to win, it's any given ---day remember that.

Just because they lack an efficient running game doesn't mean they can't score.
However I think a lot of you Roll Tide people will be surprised to see how this game unfolds. Most of you think it'll probably be some horrible blow out like 34-7 or something like that, but that's not how I see it playing out. I think it'll be a close game.
More pressure on Bama to win this game and get off to a great start because they are going to be heavy favorite. A lot of times that pressure gets to you, just like it did last year when they lost to Utah in the Sugar Bowl.

No, sorry longhorn fans.
Alabama is too good on defense to allow Texas to score much.
It'll be a blowout, roll tide bring it home for the SEC baby.

I wonder what you would've said if I replaced Texas with Florida prior to the SEC championship game.

I was logical with that game. Going in I knew it was going to be tough. Me being a gator fan has nothing to do with why I think Alabama is going to win. I think Florida vs Texas would be an amazing matchup but Alabama is a super team and ithink they are going to play an incredible game against a Texas offense that hasn't been tested before Nebraska.

Apparently you can't read so i'll say it again. Texas does not have an effective running game which means colt mccoy has to win the game with his arm. NOBODY who is currently playing college football can beat bama on his own (see the SEC championship for reference). This means Texas isn't going to be scoring many points and you can't win if you can't score; thus bama wins by 10+
And in your psychoanalysis, you seem to have forgotten that saban will NOT allow them to get too confident after last year's fiasco.

Of course Texas has a chance, they just better have their offense good to go and not have another repeat performance of what they did in the Big12 Championship game. If Texas' offense plays that poorly... Bama will win by at least 3 touchdowns.

I hope Tim Tebow takes Cincinnati down as well.
