Gen 4 timmy question

Hey all in timmy land.

So I know that bob makes a good gun. It seems like everyone had issues with the gen 4 though. I have heard that it was the poppet or something else that was causing all of the issues. Is this true? The reason I ask is because im going to buy my friends 2k6 timmy and know that he has had some issues with it. I an some what familiar with the gen3 and gen 5 but not so much with the gen 4.

Thanks for any help

Gen4s are a little more tempermental than other gens but they are just as reliable and perform just as well if properly maintained. People just they they have problems because they have a few more Orings. Just keep it clean and keep the regs at the right PSI and itll run with every other gun out there.

if the gun has a brass poppet, then you are fine.
If it still has a delrin one, call BLAST

Gen4's originally can with delrin poppets, which didnt seal to well and caused other problems.

With the brass poppet, there is a oring that acts as the cupseal. The "problem" people have had was the middle oring(cupseal) would pop off and cause the gun to leak. But its a simple solution either get a smaller oring or just glue the oring in place.

i just finally got my gen 4 up and running. But lemme tell you, right now this is one of the smoothest shooting poppets i have ever shot, almost as smooth or smoother than my dm and friends luxe. This gun shoots so nice now. It is a little finicky, but once you get the hang of it you can balance and adjust the regs and the gun should be fine. Also i highly recommend dow 55. I thought i could sneak by and just use dow 33 or other normal non swelling lube, and i had problems. The minute i switched to dow 55, and these leaks went away.

^^BL only recommends Dow 55 on his markers for lube, other than Tri-Flow on the bolt. They are tempermental markers but with some know how and TLC they are amazing. My 06 Infamous was running between 48-50 psi on the LPR and never had an issue other than needing a Rammer lube and o-ring change occasionally.
