the short story about POW's used as human chess pieces
POW's used as human chess pieces.... I think some were family members (its been a while) when a chess piece is lost the person is executed. I think there was a person (the author) who was watching the game with the crazy militant....... actually, I think the chess peices were all military men from the same squad and the squads leader was the king so he had to sacrifice some of his men (pawns) to win the game....... he was playing against actual chess pieces (the militants team)
I think it was kafka or kurt vonnegaut (cant remember)
