This Thread is here to inform paintballers of the differences es in the g3 markers to help them decide witch marker to buy
G3 - The dangerous power G3 is a spool valve paintball marker. It was first introduced to paintball in 2008. The marker comes with a 14" barrel, a very nice lever locking feedneck, RAPs on off asa (flip lever asa) and it is very light weighing in at under 2 pounds.
The board modes for the g3 are semi (both 15bps and 25bps caps), psp ramping (both 13bps and 15bps), millennium ramping, and nxl full auto.

iQ - mechanically the same as the G3 but has a press fit feedneck and screw in ASA instead of the Lever Lock feedneck and RAPS asa that the G3 has. Also, the body milling is slightly different (see pic of G3 iQ for body reference).

G3 iQ - As the name implies its a mixture of the G3 and the iQ. The body is that of the iQ but the "accessories" (Lever Lock neck and RAPS) of a G3.

G3 SE - A G3 with an upgraded trigger and board. Board programming is identical to the APE stock replacement. Dip switches on the board are for tourney lock only. This board also has a PSP Burst mode. Note, at certain BPS setpoints it does not shoot 3 balls per pull unlike most other boards! The SE also has a 2 piece barrel, a polished finish, and a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Nano - Made by Inspire under license from DP. Mechanically the same as a G3 with upgrade body AND frame milling. Comes with the Gen 1 RAPS and F8 styled Lever Lock feedneck and depending on which version, either a G3 barrel or a carbon fiber barrel.

Spec-R - The newest version of the "G3". Updated milling to both the body and frame. Comes with a 14" 2-piece barrel, bearing trigger, frame adjustments for trigger setpoints (See Fusion trigger setup), bolt orings moved to inside of the body and updated power button similar to that of the REV-i.
EDIT: The Spec- R has been found to have efficiency on par/ better than the g3s that have the tech t bolt engine.
G3 BOARDS WILL NOT WORK IN THE SPEC R. HERE IS WHY
Quote:
"I've been told by a number of people that you can put a G3 board in a Spec-R. However, a G3 board will not work in a Spec-R, because of a huge difference in the length of the power button.
If your thinking of buying an aftermarket board for your Spec-R, you'll need to make sure that the board is for a Spec-R, because the power button on a G3 board will be so long, that you won't even be able to get the board installed in the gun.
Other then the length of the power button, the G3 boards are identical to the Spec-R boards.
The guys at APE are aware of this, and are making a shorter power button to use in their boards for the Spec-R.
I've included a large picture of the G3 and Spec-R boards side by side so you can see the difference in the length of the power buttons. I just thought I would share this nugget of information with everyone."

G4: DP just released the G4. It is essentially a spec r with different milling, the same microswitch board, new DP style reg (uses the spring), and the oringless bolt from the spec r. for 300$ it cannot be beat.
a review was just posted by chuck
http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3427242
update on the g4, the APE oled board has been confirmed to work in the g4 due to the frames being identical.
and incase you didn't read the review chuck provided us like you should have, the stock lube on the G4 is HORRID and should be replaced unless you like have bolt stick out of the box.

Chucks g4 shown above with the APR OLED board and grips.

E1
As of December 24th, 2010 we know the following about the E1
It is a low end marker targeted for players that want a gun that will work but is also cheep. It comes with an attractive price of $200
Utilizes the same bolt system as the G3. The bolt engine and PMD will work in the E1 BUT the tooless backcaps go deep into the marker and make it difficult to unscrew.
- The E1 Accepts any G3 board (Must be a microswitch board)
- Trigger has 3 point adjustment
- Feedneck is NOT a clamping feedneck but can be swapped out for any DP feedneck.
- Comes with an ON OFF asa but it is not a raps
- The ASA is part of the frame and cannot be swapped out for an after market ASA
- Marker has a semi and full auto firing mode. Both are capped at 25bps
