I heard through a rumor that if you swap out the red peice for the blue it will make your gun shoot a lot smoother is this true? Because through my eyes they look practically identical?

The blue allows more air flow, allowing you to lower your pressure. This produces a slight change in sound signature as well. It may not look much different, but when you're dealing with compressed gases a little can mean a lot.

I run the blue and it feels and sounds much better. Still getting 9 pods out of my 68/4500

I was using the red insert yesterday and got consistent 285-287 for a straight like 50 shots.

This morning I decided to test the blue insert. Had to decrease the air pressure so I'm assuming this will account for the SLIGHT reduction in recoil....but my velocity consistency was noticeably different. It was more like 278-288 now...wow huge change.

Is this what is supposed to happen?

Also I was shooting in my backyard as opposed to an open field. Is the red significantly louder than the blue? I couldn't really tell.

the red insert has a smaller inner diameter so it restricts flow a little more than the blue one.

my NT came with the red insert in out of the box, I swapped it out for the blue insert before I ever shot the marker. I have been getting pretty consistent readings at the chrono (285,284,277,281)

My consitency was not to bad ~5 fps.
