i use a box cutter in the "chopping" motion (as in culinary)
I slide back and lower the knife at the same time. Works really well.

I find that it works better than the straight down motion.

Get yourself a very small tubing cutter they are used in the auto industry. I got one from a local volvo plant that is actually made to cut macro. If you use knifes etc you can get ragged or not straight cuts and it will make a leak. With the proper tool you pretty much eliminate that problem.

Dog nail clippers work extremely well, not to mention they are small and fit in a tool box easily. They support the macroline all the way around while you are cutting it.

I agree with the tubing or conduit cutter. Got a piece of macro last week and the shop used a small tube cutter, worked perfect.
