Best place

Hey guys,
What's the best place to buy some WWII uniforms cheap? I'm looking for the 101st Airborne uniform and cheap. Can't find many affordable places. Anybody recommend any places?

Sadly all of the Sunny's surplus stores in my area closed up shop and that was our only surplus store in MD. I've got a pair of BDUs I can use, I need the gaiters, helmet and ammo belt.

here in frederick, you can go to ft Detrick, they have an on base thrift store that sells all sorts of old surplus gear. im not sure how far back the gear goes, but i know its open to the public.

yeah, it does suck that sunny's is gone. i loved shopping there, lol.

Best source for older WWII garmets is E-bay, that is so
liong as you're not a size 44. If that's the case you're
going to have to shoot for a repoduction and depending
on what you buy it's going to set you back a lot. Just
a WWII Officer's short can run 90.00, but if it doesn't
have to be exact you can find a cotton poly blend LS
shirt at JC Penny for under 25.00. For jump boots you
might look to buy a pair of Korean paratrooper boots
and then have them dyed brown by a shoe repair place.
Need more tips or links to sites, let me know and I'll
be glad to share what I've found.

Sincerely,

The best place to get them is those real small surplus stores. the ones run by old wwII and vietnam vets. we got a couple in ct.

Here in SW Florida there aren't any stores like that.
The closest is over on the east coast, 3.5 hours
drive from here. I've found most if not all the stuff
one could want by searching the net. E-Bay has
loads of re production uniforms, not just US or
German for sale. Other sources include US Cav
and similar catalog sources.

Anyone in need of links to places that sell this
stuff can drop me a note with what you're looking
for and I'll pas along some of the links I've come
up with for everything from boots to helmets, to
tents to house everyone in.

Sincerely,

if you want 101st patches, you can just buy the shoulder patches online or something. since they used the color patches, you can just buy the ones that we wear on our class a uniforms...tho i've got the double a's instead of the choking chicken on my shoulder!
