velocity question?
hey guys yesterday at the field at chrono'd hot around 296 (the field regulation is 285) so i turned the reg on the bottom down until it was around 271-268. However, it seemed that my balls were dropping really bad (yeah i know...lets be mature please ) my friend i needed to adjust the LPR? and that would use more air but my balls wouldnt drop as much? is this true because he does not own an etek so i thought i would ask the experts. Also looking with the barrel pointed towards ur face which way do u turn the LPR to keep the balls from dropping.
thnks guys

Not sure what you meant by ball drop, but are you saying that your balls at 268fps are not flying as far as when it was at 296? so it is dropping alot quicker at 268?!?
I no expert, but I dont think you should touch the LPR if you dont know which way to screw it... specially with the barrel pointing at your face...

Well if you dropped it 30fps it will drop sooner than it did before, basically won't go as far. Your LPR should be flush to the end of the lpr cap.
Also, consider getting a barrel kit if you are using the stock barrel(etek 1 especially). A cheap freak kit would be good, a shaft kit whatever. Then start boreing your paint. Your barrel could be a bit larger than your paint, giving the paint a chance to move around in the barrel. This will cause inacuracy and even that "drop" your trying to fix.

no its like it seems my range has been cut down like alot...like alot alot lol. at the scenario game i think my max range was probably around 25-30 yds and i dont think it was breaking at tht range anyway. And im not pointing the barrel at my face i was just using tht as a direction reference to determine clockwise or counter-clockwise. Do u think i should just run some paint thru it and tweak it til im happy?? also for the record its an etek 2

Dont worry kid, it is normal
if a ball shoots out of your barrel at a slower speed... it will not go as far as when it was shooting faster... simple as that... if you want it to go further, turn your velocity up to 285fps using your HPR...
Maybe check your detents to see if they are still in good condition... if they look either broken, snapped off, or bend funny, then just replace it... as the ball might be sitting abit funny in the breach, and caused unintentional spin on the balls.
if your shots are consistent, and have no problems (including your balls not going as far as you like), I would not suggest screwing around with your LPR. leave it flushed at stock settings (see stickies on what it means)... messing around with your LPR if you dont know what you doing can cause problems that you probably dont know how to fix.
please /facepalm your friend for being an idiot. does he have an Ion?
