Lots of unnecessary big words it seems. Though it was written in 1850.

They had a different idea of what good writing was back then.

I figured, like going WAY off topic to describe or elaborate on something then changing the topic completely was a good idea.

20TH CENTURY GHOSTS by JOE HILL.
great collection of short stories, just about to start the last story in it.
his other novel HEART SHAPED BOX was fantastic. also if anyone reads comics, he is the writer of LOCKE AND KEY.
RAGANA: the STAND is worth its wait for sure. such a great story all the way through. Are you a king fan? or just happened upon this one?

He doesn't get his facts anything close to accurate, he writes out of his ***. And he writes the same book over and over again. There's nothing good about his writing, it's like fast food of the literature world. It's cheap, but it entertains.

Just started the Maximum Ride series by James Patterson, felt like reading something nice and easy. We will see if they are any good.

So... We shouldn't read books that entertain?
Just read boring ****, on principle?

I just can't see how people are entertained by poorly written, mindless drivel that is factually incorrect.

Perhaps because they have an opinion of Dan Brown that is not the same as yours?

I'm reading The Lost Symbol right now as well. You can think what you want about Dan Brown, but his novels are ridiculously entertaining. You can only write a great thriller so many different ways, and the way he write them you won't stop reading them. Deception Point is still one of the best books I've read.

I read Deception Point a while back, going to reread it again in a few weeks since I just want to, and I have this stupid book report thing to do.
The Lost Symbol was ****ing great. Finished it in like 2 days.
Payed 20 bucks for it and found the whole thing free online though... =/

Would that happen to be "the three sons"? I found that in a bookstore and I thought it was a good read.

I never read any of his work before. I watched the Mist and movie honestly disturbed the hell out of it, so I went out to Barnes and Nobles and picked up a couple of his books. The Stand just happened to be the first one I read.
Aside from that one, I just reread Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. One of his better ones imho.

feel free to pm me if you want to continue through his stuff, without reading something that will spoil something else. many of his works tie into each other.
finishing up with bourne identity, then gonna continue on that series.
i was thinking about getting into clancys library next. any reccomendations? i have read clear and resent danger, which blew the movie ou of the water.
