I went from Jan. to Dec of '03 with 4 showers, not even hot. I could deal with getting shot at, eating MRE's and sleeping in the dirt everyday. But sitting in a vehicle all day with four other stinking *** guys really sucked.
Just do what you can to get through the days. It sucks while you are there, but I have wanted to go back ever since I got out. You will be happy you are doing what you are one day.. trust me.

ha, yea im kinda near baf...and yeah one of the biggest reasons i think this is gay is cuz of all the amenities on the fobs...like seirously baf has bk, pizza hut, showers, full px, coffee shops, popeyes...im happy i get to talk to my wife everyday but this is NOT what i thought it would be...am i the only army dude in here or what????

A freind of mine had a falafel and got dysentery. He had the ****s for a month. It was bad when we were on patrol and had to stop so he could ****, then we started getting attacked.

there was a kid that had what looked like a madden 2010 game for xbox out in this market....we bought it from him for 10 bucks to see if it was real...of course it didnt work, so we came back the next week, and demanded our money back, the lil **** wouldnt give us th ten bucks back so we had to accept homemade slingshots and wicked *** turbans

BAF ruled, kind of like a ****ty vacation. where im at now, the camp is overcrouded, so we have a shortage of just about everything. but its not bad, just irritating.
im with the 82nd.

i see a lot of people hate 'stan...
i ****ing loved my mission when i was over there. it is pretty boring but you have to look at the operating environment. you go from the cities of iraq to the mudhuts and farmlands of 'stan.
i was in kandahar and we had some of the biggest finds over our sister team in bagram. i wont start hating deployments until ive been to both AORs... but iraq is closing so i think im heading to stan again
