I don't think I've seen anyone younger than 18... I got my certification when I was 17, but that's because my B-Day was right after the clinic and by the time I stepped on a field I'd be 18..

If I remember correctly you can get certified before 18, but wont be hired until after 18.

Yea, you can get certified at age 16...just somthing to show offf to local fields if you are inmterested in working there. Although, you wont get hired for national/regional tournaments until 18.

It seems that most local fields don't really care if you're certified or not, some fields will help pay, but the local field I work at didn't care the slightest. They asked how often I wouldn't be around to work and that was it.

Most people at my local fields are all volunteers and have no type of certification at all...

you are able to be certified before you are 18 but you cannot ref on the field until you are 18+ for tournaments anyway.

I don't know where anyone in this thread got their information, but I know quite a few PSP refs that are under 18.

I know multiple people under 18 that are certified and have reffed in the PSP.
And I wouldn't have called them PSP refs if they hadn't already reffed one or more of the events.

I started reffing PSP after getting certified in 06, i was only 14 at my first event World Cup 06, and 13 events later i'm still only 17 turning 18 in less than a month. NPPL was strict on the 18+ age thing, which i believe is where most of those posts in this thread are regarding. However PSP Reccommends that you are 16 at time of certification, but it is not absolutely neccesary. Your evaluation at the certification clinic is what matters and is what will get you into an event, not your age.
