im not totally up to speed on the iphone 3gs, but does it have to be on in order for the gps feature to be tracked?
and if so, the police can track it once this loser turns it back on and tries to use it.

no info yet as of the end of today. i got a lot of helpful suggestions. as soon as i finish up the teardown of the fields monday morning i am going to the police department and attempt to get a copy of my drivers license (as they are linked to the dmv) so i can get through the airport faster. but it still looks like i have to jump through a lot of hoops when i get to the airport. thanks to tracie from pevs, chris raehl, camille, and dan perez for making the necessary phone calls to the airport/police/airline etc. while i was tending to the fields.

i will probably go to an apple store when i get back home, as i need the IMEI number of my phone in order for it to be located.

i appreciate everyones' concern, i had multiple people during the day ask me if my backpack was returned.

That's a ****ty deal. I heard them announcing almost every hour asking if anyone had accidentally picked it up as theirs. Guess that wasn't the case.

well if it was picked up from inside one of the tents the only way someone wouldve picked it up by accident is if it was one of the employees frank works with.... so clearly not the case.

if you have seen anyone with these items, or have personally seen someone duck into registration and pick up my bag, please return it to the pevs pro-shop or to the USPL registration booth.

I am referee at the field where the event was held, if he is a local and we find him, not only will we get your stuff back, but he will be banned from the field. permanently. Pev's has a zero tolerance policy about stealing and cheating. I'll be on the lookout. Good luck in the meantime.

This has been taken care of somewhat. I won't go into details but the kid who did this (a player at the event) was caught.
