Eye cover threads stripped

I took apart the eye cover to clean the eyes. And now only one of the eye covers holds in place. I know that its not the screws because the both work on the right side of the body so its the threads on the body that are sripped. However, if i only screw the screw without the eye cover it holds so that means its only the begining of the threads that are damaged. I thought I could get a longer screw and it would be fine but i can't find any of these in anywhere.

If someone could tell me where i could get a longer screw it would appreciated since I dont like to use tape to hold my eye covers.

I live in the province of Quebec. And the screw is not stripped it's the body so kila detents won't help at all but with a slightly longer screw I should ok but i dont know where to find one.

Anyone know if timmy's eye covers use same screw size as the quest?

screws

i wouldn't risk putting a bigger screw in the gun without contacting FEP first, the timmy screws are bigger then the quests.

you can try your local hardware store or mcmaster-carr.com for longer screws. the stock ones are #2-56x something. i think 3/16 but you can measure the ones you have to be sure. and make sure they really arent grabbing the threads and not just wobbling around making it hard to grab the threads.

finding screws that small at your local hardware store is very hard tho and you will have better luck at mcmaster-carr. you may need to get it rethreaded to accept a larger diameter screw after all.

Did you find a solution? I have the very same problem! BTW, I'm from Argentina so I'm quite desperate. Right now I'm holding the eye cover with some Duct tape

Yep. At least it proves that he used the search function to find this thread rather than just posting a new thread.

If you think about it, people can't win. If you post a new thread about a previously discussed topic, we tell them to search..... If they do search, and then post in the thread they find, we tell them not to bring up an old thread.....

Here in Argentina we have a paintball forum to deal any issues about our local activities.

As a part of the forum, I always prefer to "revive" a very old thread instead of creating a new one asking the same thing. Besides, I did use the search and the best thread dealing this topic was this one.

Please, accept my apologies.

I would say just retap the eye screw hole in the body. I believe the tap you'll want is a M2.2x.45

I matched up the threads and the thread pitch is .45 (distance of .45mm between threads, yes it is a metric threaded screw)

The diameter of the screw is 2.12mm. My tap and dye set doesn't have a tap that small so I can't exactly be 100% certain
