Stop hating.. Everyone complains paintball goes nowhere than you go to a new forum and see this..

Yeah maybe the event wasn't an HB event or World Cup... But at least they're doing something to give to you guys.. If you don't like the event than why don't you go make your own this big... It's not that easy.

I think that it's cool what Bshort wants to write he has the right to his own opinion and is a damn good player a person... But I read it and it seems like he's trying to put this down more than getting this league off on the right foot.

Food for thought

The reason this event sucked is the economy, the news channels aren't just talking about it for ****s and giggles. If things ever, which they won't, go back to the days when the NPPL was throwing amazing events all over at max capacity while the PSP was doing the same at max cap.; it will be a long, long time from now.

This industry relied on amazing, absolutely unsustainable growth. Everybody kept thinking we would keep seeing huge jumps in the number of people playing, but realistically, there is a limit. Now I'm not saying we plateu'd; there are kids getting old enough to play at local fields everyday, but to keep on thinking we would grow at double(or triple) digits is just dumb.

I'm not going to get down on the USPL. I have never liked 7-man, and I probably never will.I started playing tournament ball in the CFOA, and I found my way to the national scene through an XBALL team; I am very Xball biased. But I think now more than ever the only way this crazy, out-of-bounds sport we play is going to really survive is through picking one-format and putting all the better minds(read: dollars) behind it. It will give us more legitimacy as a sport, and the boondoggle of picking a venue for one of those mythic, outside the sport vendors will be solved. If we can get a Red Bull, Intel-type force to come in and throw some cash at us....we might actually survive as a professional, even half-way legitimate sport. Is there really anyone against that?

Just my thoughts on the issue. All that being said, no matter how small it ends up being; I will be at the D.C. Challenge or whatever they want to call it even if I just watch a couple of half-assed (semi-)Pro games.

Sorry if that was a long rant. Not trying to start an arguement of any kind.

Crappy thread with a few excellent posts!
But I think the mods should consider a whinypaintball forum so the purely negative members can have a place to hang out with their peers.

Reffing is reffing not many people know how hard it is to do good at it or even do it. The best ref in the world will miss a call and any player can admit that and if some can't they need to try reffing an event.

If people complain about it being small they shouldn't go and just throw they're own tournament. Like **** USPL doesn't have to do anything the pro teams that are putting this together are doing the sport and everyone playing it a favor really.

Location is really hard, I talked to a few local owners (Mass.) and I honestly had no idea where they could hold the Boston tournament at. They aren't having it now but still the USPL isn't gonna make the mistake by booking these big events worth a lot. They're smart for it sorry not every tourney can't be huge...

Talk to your vendors than maybe if more people went to the event instead of putting it down you'd have more vendors. No one is helping the situation by trashin USPL.. Like a pro on Legend was saying earlier give it time America didn't form in a few days/years on some words..

(Not taking a shot at you just adressing what you said to the general public.)

Why couldn't things get back to max capacity? An economic downturn now doesn't mean an economic downturn forever. Just curious.

All the teams that are playing the uspl need to go and give the wcppl a chance. It's entry fees are reasonable and it's byop, and the reffing is awesome. No team should want to play uspl after playing a wcppl event!!

At Least half the teams that played WCO were east coast teams. If your paint is sponsored, you are not covered at WCPPL. There is a reason why leagues co-exist.....to increase the competative nature of the sport.

The thing that makes me laugh is people complained the venue sucked, and you should play WCPPL. How many WCPPL tournaments are at SC Village? How many vendors were at WCPPL events?

Is the competition tougher at USPL or WCPPL? Something tells me USPL competition is tougher! Mainly because you have the most competative players from the whole country.

WCPPL was held at SC Village twice, the 1st time because that 's where it was supposed to be, and the 2nd time was because Gecko told them they couldn't have it there last minute.

As far as the Vendors at WCPPL, there weren't many BUT then again, this is NOT a national league.

As far as the paint goes, the event pricing is VERY cheap for Draxxus gold and Silver.

I guess You should tell the ballers that DC is not in the east. Our Next event is at Pev's...
BTW I included a map for you. And yes there are some very "great" teams on the East!

check out the press release for DC CHALLENGE. Gonna be a great event. This is my back yard (PEVS NEW FIELD) and it is going to be fun. Catered cookout for everyone during field walking and captain's meeting! If anyone needs help or advice on logistics.. Hit me up.
