Mask is priority most important, then your gear. Then get your Marker,Tank, and Hopper on one trip.Well that's my opinion...

Whatever you need the most, get that first.

It only takes one...

Mask should be your number one priority. You can play paintball using a rental gun, but actually have a better day if you have a good, comfortable thermal lens mask. After that, I would say the tank, the hopper (Either order on those), and then the marker. I would recommend getting a good tank, and a good hopper. If you get a cheapy Spyder, but are running a quality 68/4500 tanks and a HALO hopper, it will help you get prepared for the quality of a Timmy, or a DM, or whatever. You won't buy a cheap steelie tank, and a VL Eye Force, then get a DM6 or Ego6, and find that the hopper and tank suck, and you have to get new ones.

I'd say you should buy a package, many websites and stores offer them, price range varies, as well as quality and gear setup, but they do have all the "necessary" equipment.
Other than that, I'd say you should get a mask first, because you can NOT play without a mask. At least with a mask you can be in the game with a camera or just watching, or with a rented marker. Renting mask can be good but more than often, rental masks are f*cked up.
Second get your marker, along with hopper and tank if you can...If you can't get them all together, you can play by renting. Or you can get the marker without hopper and take, that way you will be able to open it up and start learning how to clean it.
Once you have a mask and a working marker (that is fully functional, with hopper and tank), you're set to play. You can then eventually get pod packs, belts, vests, harnesses, whatever pleases you.
But seriously, order is unimportant, it is just more logical to get a pack with everything at once.

Mask, quality tank, marker, hopper last. You can put a gravity feed on anything and still shoot paint. But once you are going to get a hopper, get a quality one like a rotor or prophecy.
