Mother Nature is not Cooperating
So the weather reports aren't looking too good... It'll be cool temperature wise, better than last year, but it may rain.
So, since I've never played in the rain, will if affect my hopper or gun?
What is everyone going to do if it rains? I plan to play as long as my gear isn't damaged.

Looks like I'm breaking out the rain bag for the camera...
As for you guys, most guns have enough seal around electronics to keep safe from shorting out, don't open your guns up until the day is done when you have a roll of paper towls to dry everything up. Hoppers should be good to just put away the speed feeds for this one or you'll be making funky blended drinks.
The only real hitch you'll have is barrel porting, any amount of water getting into the barrel with seriously effect accuracy and ball breaks. There are 2 good fixes, 1 is to cut through a plastice bag, put it over the porting and use rubber bands to seal it up or use a non-ported barrel.
Also blocking off the top section of your mask will prevent water from seeping into your lenses creating instant fog. Visors, hoodies, towls, what ever you can to block that will keep you usefull on the field longer.
Other then that bring tons of socks, afew extra pairs of clothes and a ton of paper towls. It'll be fun!
Cheers
Jim

keep your paint dry, don't use a speedfeed lid on the hopper and tape the porting of you barrel.

Wear a hat or beanie or visor over your mask so it does not get wet.

its calling for scattered t-storms 40% chance saturday, 30% sunday. We are probably not going to see much by way of rain, the "scattered" part means it would probably be a few small quick moving storm cells. all in all i am not worried, BUT i will have mech guns on standby, IF its a torrential downpour for more than an hour. Again, i'm not worried.
EDIT: "Quit yer cryin, boy! It builds character!!"

Dont worry I am a weatherman....(not)
bring extra clothes and socks, some tape for your barrel if needed...dont worry if only showers should not be a problem...downpours are the exception...we played at ION (skirmish) a couple years ago in hurricane conditions...it sucked but we still played. Tough it out and if you have a mechanical backup bring it just in case..

Ya I had a speedfeed on my reloader last year at global and switched to the vlocity I had b/c it had a normal lid and it was fine...my ego was fine, just try to keep your gun dry!! If it rains hard you might want to cover some of the electronics like wrap something on the grip frame or w/e i used a sock!

just come prepared for the weather, and you will find even in nasty weather, the game is a blast.

Highly doubting to much rain hopefully none at all but its still a long way out weathermen are not the best source to rely on so who knows I guess. 40% could mean none or a lot hopefully none

Firday's not looking too hot, 60% chance of rain. Sounds like we'll have a soggy field for Saturday...that means bring extra socks! Guess setting up the campsite could get interesting...XBox is staying in the car until we're sure we can keep it dry, then we'll have Rockband all night long!
Lid's staying on the loader for now, we'll switch that out later. Gun's lubed and ready to roll... Now to find all my other junk that I need...
