CCI horizontal feed material?

does anyone know what material the clear CCI horizontal feed is made of?
I know it's some kind of acrylic, but I was hoping someone knew something more specific.

I'm not sure if they are made of a special kind of acrylic or not.
And because I'm working on a project (Phantom) and there is another piece that is usually aluminum that I want to have machined out of clear acrylic.

Actually I was thinking of a clear acrylic barrel tip that would fit one of those Phantom FREAK backs from Wevo

the only thing im thinking i might have a problem with is that if it was machined it may have tool marks on it.
if the cci parts are molded, i may have to go that way.
hmmmmmmm

What do you think about this stuff? I would probably have to have the machinest who ends up doing this work for me start with like a 1" diameter or something like that.

Acryllic machines just fine. You polish it by using acetone afterwards, I believe.

Of course, it will likely be easier for the machinist to make a rain cover/barrel extension that clamps onto a Freak front. Might look better, too.

Word of caution, the clear parts for the phantom are a little brittle, and I have cracked quite a few with drops or screwing the feed tube in a little too hard. Just a lil fyi.

get some lexan rod.

lexan is bullet proof glass essentially. much more durable and less prone to cracking.

There's a little more to it than "essentially bullet proof glass"...
