True, but why not make everything a little bit more obvious. Call it a enviromental protection tax. The more gas it takes to go x miles, the more you pollute on the way to work. Squeeze the tit harder if are burning more go juice than the next guy.
Meanwhile back in the thread: Taxing people who buy bad foods can't be bad. And, I used to be a cashier at the local walmart, and being non-judmental here, but damn near every person coming to my register that had food stamp cards bought some of the least healthy food you could spend money on. Totinos party pizzas by the dozen, and damn near three quarters the rest of the bill being similarly "healthy" frozen food items. Rarely ever fresh whole food items.
