Empire slider pants same as slider shorts and kneepads?
http://www.ansgear.com/Empire_Ground...gpproslide.htm
I was looking into getting a pair of slider pants since it seems way cheaper than getting slider shorts and then getting kneepads. Coupled with paintball pants, they should be more than good, right?

Or are the padding on the slider pants very soft foam so the kneepads would be the way to go?

Kee gave us some of those slider pants last year. I never used them and sold mine. Personally I didn't like them as much as the sliding shorts.
The knee pads in the pants are thin and have to be pulled over your other knee pads. (they arent good enough on their own)
Not sure for what type of paintball you want them for, but Personally I'd go with shorts and knee pads.
If you're just starting out, I'd definitely recommend you get a good pair of knee pads before anything else

I basically agree. I used to use Empire SE Contact pants and the Vents Knee/Shin pads. Of course, the knee pads still end up not staying in place and sliding down your knees... so I got the Pro Slider Shorts. The pads in the knees (as expected) is rather thin and just don't do a good job on their own. The sliders are nice to have for the extra hip padding and such, but for the knees, you'll still want something with them. Otherwise it's like saying your jersey has padding on the elbows, so you don't need elbow pads. Yeah, it does have padding, but it's really only good if you're resting on your elbows... it's not going to help for diving.

If you want them get a size smaller than you would take because they are spandex.

Thanks a ton guys. I'm going to pass on the slider pants as I had no idea their knee padding wasn't great.
Going to get some good kneepads first, and then maybe elbow pads. I probably won't need to get slider shorts until I actually start doing slides at full speed. Do have paintball pants on the way tho.

I have owned a pair for the last 2 years and I love them. They have enough padding for me, and I play rough. True the knee padding isnt too thick, but in addition to my pants, they worked plenty for me

I would get the slider shorts long before I get elbow pads.
