TPX 12 gram plug mod

So we all know that gripping that damn plug is kinda a PITA. Forget about trying to torque it off when you want to change a 12 gram under pressure. I came up with this little mod to help both of my problems with the plug.

Basically all I did was run down to the hardware and picked up a shoulder bolt and appropriate drill and tap. Doing this gives a handle that makes turning the plug so much easier. I've also noticed through a day of play that I don't even need to look at the plug positioning any more and can keep focused down field as I change 12ies.

As you can see in this pic the bolt I used hangs down a little below the rail so holstering may be a slight issue. I did buy shorter bolts to switch out for this reason. That being said I use this as a main without a holster so opted for the longer bolt for ease of grip

Cool deal...I think. I think I would try a smaller bolt on both sides of the cap. Not sure I want a bolt hanging out of my pistol but whatever works for ya. Kinda along the line of they laugh at you until you pop them in the goggles. I'm going to wait and buy the airline adapter and run a nine oz. tank from one of my pod holders. Where did you find all the magazines? They are all sold out in central pa.

I kinda have intentions of milling the end off the bolt and making it look like something other than a bolt on the end of my gun. Rounding it off and getting it anno'ed and such but this will work for now.

I live in Ft. Wayne IN where Tippmann is located so I am kinda close to the source.

Well that works... I guess I was just going to use a 3/16 allen wrench if I need to. Then again, my field essentially requires you to carry tools on the field if you want to play right after chronographing.

Wow, that is different. Most fields I know of do NOT let you bring tools out on the field. Way to easy to turn up the pressure if you are holding your allen keys in your pocket. They don't frisk you but if they see you with tools out then you will be asked to leave the field and if you keep doing it you will be asked to leave the park.

No, I agree it is odd. But it's a bit of a laid back atmosphere.

I just tested my TPX today and got 24 reliable shots from it (with awful paint and possibly a broken chronograph) so I have no doubt the thing will shoot more than 3 clips when properly set up. This means that once you've blasted through 3 mags, you should just dump and reload everything.

I am getting drop off after 18/19 shots. I have noticed that when you hold the tpx vertical with the barrel up it allows some co2 to settle and you may get more shots. I chrono'd at 280 all day so perhaps I should try to turn it down. Shot well though.

I also usually just shot out whatever access co2 I had left and had not problems removing the cap.

My TPX squeeks when I shoot it for the first 10 shots about. How do I stop this?
