Very true.

Also, have you browsed through the Tactics/Strategy/Tips sub-forum at the top of Paintball Talk? I haven't been in there in a while, but there used to be some great threads in there. You may have to dig back a ways to find them, but that might be a good start.

Chip Foose had a good comment once on OverHauling that I feel applies equally as well here. He said "What really matters is what you learn after you have learned everything". There are a lot of players that know everything that they need to do. The trick is knowing when and where to deviate from those things. Those who are great have refined everything that they know to a farther point than others.

IMO...

the ability to read fields, know when to make the big moves.
the ability to truly play as part of a team.
the ability to react quickly and put your first paintball on target
etc

you can be tiny, fast as hell, awesome at running and shooting, snap shooting, etc..but that doesnt mean you KNOW how to play paintball.

Being humble, be nice, don't be cocky. Always remain positive to everyone and every situation that you encounter. Never get angry at other players, or let your temper get to you.

This will make you the best and most liked player.

Experience is the most important. You can watch all those training videos but you're still gonna suck unless you know how to use those skills on the field. Get on a tournament team and play some tourneys. You'll start learning from the people that're better than you.

Ref for six years and play with a pump gun. You learn to be more aggressive and using your ammo to your advantage.
