The whole thing felt like a myspace blog. And it kept hitting you in the head with the "finding happiness through isolation from the rest of the world" theme. Boring read imo

Sorry for the bump...but time is very relative in the literature subforum

Unwind by Neal Shusterman is by far the worst piece of crap I've ever laid eyes on. Normally, I give authors credit for having good ideas and good intentions, even if their work is crap. But, Neal Shusterman is a complete and utter hack. He has no writing style, no clue on how a story should be told, no motivation to his stories, no theme, just pure crap designed to sell.

I have never called an author a troll before, but holy crap this guy is.

Screw it, resurrect the thread, these are always fun.

For me, it's 2001 Space Oddysee.

First half of it, is day in the life of a scientist in the "future". Literally every little boring detail. No clue how I got through that in High School.

I hated Gatsby as well, the unrealistic dialog and way it changed from one subject to another made it hard to follow, I ended up just doing my report on the movie which, surprisingly (and also unfortunately) followed the book almost word for word, I still got an 85 on it.

True about the isolation thing however, I really enjoyed that because most people suck. I thought it was hilarious, its that stage in the teenage boys life where he feels indestructible and a badass while trying new things in the real world and ends up getting his *** kicked. Only book I could read over and over.

mine has to be Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress. I shouldn't have even started it when the first word of the title is dangerously close to ballsack, I swear the author is ****ing with you. I only read it cause it was on sale and I had a couple dollars left on a borders gift card.

Easily, the book was poorly written in general as far as structure is concerned and when it comes to the content, as stated it was generally uninteresting. I had to read it when I was in AP Lit and I hated every page. It was not interesting to me in the least bit and failed to maintain my attention. I have absolutely no idea why people like that book so much just for the fact that it was never ientertaining to read. And although we were suppposed to finish the book I think I gave up at around halfway through that waste of a tree and still got a passing grade on the test.

The Da Vinci Code. I'm not religious, but this was just a poor read IMO.
