best barrel(bore size) - no matter how much it will cost
Hi, I would like to choose palmers brass barrel for my smart parts sp8 :-D I know that i want apex adapter and I need best performance for these paintballs :-D
example of paintballs.
DraXxus Hellfire .687 - .690
DraXxus Inferno .688 - .689
RPS All Star .686 - .689
RPS Premium Gold .686 - .689
Toroball Competition .688 - .690
sometimes
Zap Classic .689 - .691
size of paintballs which I use is between 686 do 690 .... so can anybody advice my right bore size for my new brass barrel??? (except chronic but i dont need to use it)
There is two version : 0.690 and 0.685
but they can make me anything else ....
so please advice me best performance for accuracy with this size of paintballs :-D
is 0.690 enough or it will be better to make something with different bore size??? (0.689 , 0.688, 0.687)
I know that its wider in the middle of barrel. but here I have another question.
is bore size 0.690 in wider part of barrel or at the beginning??
I propably want ported version (does anybody know the difference in sound of ported and unported version?)
because I want very quite weapon because i need it for my style of play ....

DO NOT go low. you will break paint. if anything go as high as your largest paintball. however that isnt going to help much with teh smaller ones. you sir need a barrle kit plain and simple. no one barrel is going to shoot all of those paints well, its not possible. but if you one want 1 from palmer, yeah 12 inch, ported definitely, and .690 or .691. you have a gun that is open bolt so you really dont need wigets (thats to keep balls from rollong out of teh barrel primarily for pump and closed bolt guns like cockers blazer etc).
no porting = signifigantly louder.

Either a dual vented .690 or a custom .688.
ikey: Brass can shoot all of those well. It's only +-0.002which would be the same as a case of paint the same as the median(.688). A .690 or .688 would be perfect. On my brass barrels, my .690 shoots anything I put through it.

Thats really not true. I have used a very wide selection of paint through a single .690 PPS Brass Barrel and have seen absolutely nothing to suggest performance drop off with the different paint sizes.
I've shot paint that I measured on y CCM CF kit from .682 to .695 and I've very much enjoyed shooting them all through the same barrel over the past two years.
When I got my first Brass Barrel, it was for my A-5 so the detent kept smaller paint from rolling through and the barrel took care of the rest. I have changed over to a PPS Blazer and as long as the paint is not rolling out, its shooting great no matter what the size. The Wigets on my Blazer's barrel has kept me roll out free all the way down to .682
So, suggest listening to Freedom

this sounds crazy but I use 2 bore sizes. A .690 and a .684 I personally like the .84 nothing breaks in it from being to small and it hits stuff on a t

Keep the pump hand strong

I use a Python Compression kit with the original Apex barrel, since anything behind the Apex tip is almost useless.
Otherwise, sticking with a mid-high bored barrel with deep wedgits (Palmer only) would work, as mentioned.

I would go with the .690 or you risk breaking paint.

Go as small as you can go. Smaller is better for effeciency, and has been proven to NOT break paint.

I haven't used anything over .684 in years. The paint we get RPS Premium is currently running .682. If you want to up your efficiency I would suggest the palmers .684 with dual porting.

every psp player in the world over bores, go with over a .69 or you risk barrel breaks... if u over bore, maybe .693, if you chop, the little extra space allows you to keep shooting effectively, but you will rarely, rarely chop with a .691-3 its what the pros use. hope this helped

There are about 37 million videos on youtube and several thousand pump players who will tell you that's a lie. Underboring does not cause more ball breaks unless you're going really, really low (like .008-.01 smaller than the paint but you'd have to try pretty hard in today's environment to find a ball that much bigger than even a .679 barrel).
Especially with a closed bolt gun like a Palmer's you don't want to be overboring 90 sizes above your paint. If the OP is actually seeing paint boring at .690 vs. just taking those sizes from that ancient sticky in the barrels and paint forum I'd be very surprised, I haven't seen anything that was tight in my .685 in years and I occasionally have balls that barely don't roll through the .679 I use 98% of the time I play. You're going to want to go small, .685 minimum but if I were doing it I'd go .680 or maybe .682 at most.
