Smarter than you

From where I live in Georgia Tech, every day I walk past this memorial dedicated to those who served in Vietnam. It said the following: To those who fight for it, life has a flavor the protected will never know. Truer words have never been spoken.
I'm not in the armed forces and I probably never will be, but I really do appreciate the sacrifices that our men and women in uniform make in order to make the United States a safer place.

Thank you to all who are serving, have served, or will serve. You sacrifice so much, and most people don't know just how many things you leave behind to fight for our freedoms.
I myself will be serving in about a year and a half and I'm looking forward to it.
