how to remove ion swivel donut?

I just bought a shocktech body for my ion but I'm not sure how to remove the donut swivel at the back of the bolt case, can anyone tell me how?
Thanks in advance.

you know ive removed them before with pliers and its a *****. Is there a tool for removing them? Theres two holes on it that would make sense.

Just something ive wonderd about but never asked. So I figured it might be helpful in here.

There's a kind of pliers that have prongs that you can put into the holes. Mechanics use them all the time.

Yea there is special pliers made for them. Pretty sure they're even c-clip pliers. Basically they have little prongs that go into the holes on the clip and open and you squeeze the handles together.

If you don't have one some pliers and a small flat head screw driver work the best. Atleast no one has to see your scratched up can/firing chamber when you dont' with it

Yeah you're thing of a clip spreader. Looks sort of like needle nose pliars, but you stick the tips in each side of the clip and squeeze.

Edit: Holy crap people are on it today lol.

If you mangle the clip, it can be replaced by using a tight oring.

As Jim said, They are callse Snap Ring pliers and you can get them at any hardware or automotive parts store. I removed all the C Clips from my Ions and have replaced them with a Tank Oring (as weltmaker said).

Oh why did I even bother posting before I read the thread.

Remove the c-clamp with two o-ring picks if you have something else. You just need someone to hold the firing chamber for you.
Just looked at the forum date....LOL
