Congressional term limits?

Is this possible? I'm sure this has been brought up but it seems like a great way to get our under 40%(I think maybe less) approval rating to get focused and not worry about re-elections.

I mean the president has term limits, why not?

I agree with term limits to elected officials. Too many are too ingrained in politics and policies it hinders the countries evolution.

congressman or senator should not be a career choice

I think it's completely worthless, even though I voted yes.

If you subject members of Congress to term limits, you will only drive more and more power into unelected bureaucrats and lobbyists.

They'd never vote for it, but I think they shouldn't be able to serve more than 2 terms.

Then we need to stop giving them the benefits package they get, and make them pay their own goddamn retirement.

Bad things happen during lame duck periods, now imagine 535 more lame ducks governing us.

Elections keep politicians responsible to the people.

Congressional approval rating would show otherwise.

There is no reason for congressional term limits. No one representative holds an exorbinate amount of power and if the people really want them out all it takes is a vote which occurs every year.

The fact is some people don't care for change.

It would seem that term limits are unnecessary, if a politician is doing a good job, why stop him?

Because people vote for those they are familiar with. Term limits for congressmen is an interesting idea.
