Are the upgraded bolts still Anti-Chop?
Would the installation of a TechT or a Deadlywind bolt still maintain the anti-chop feature of the stock one? Or, would one need to upgrade the board to get eyes at the same time?

Or you could get a faster loader that will surpass the firing rate of your current board.

The anti chop feature is in the solenoid, not the bolt, so you don't have to worry.

Sorry if this off topic---but what is the advantage of an aftermarket bolt if you have a stock board?

A very small gain in efficiency, it changes the way the marker sounds, and that's about it. To be honest your money can be best spent elsewhere.

Exactly. I would say though that the L7 bolt with a stock board will significantly reduce the sound signature, which is already quite low with the stock bolt. But that's it.
I honestly put one in my SP-1 only because when I turned my SP-8 internals into EOS internals I could not use the L7 bolt with that set-up anymore, so I got a new bolt stop and put it in my SP-1 instead. It was either that or the L7 sitting in my spare parts bin.
But YES you do keep the "anti-chop tech". I can shoot the most brittle of tourney paints (like Draxxus Gold) at full-auto and get 0 chops or breaks. Quite an amazing feat for a gun with no eyes.

I changed my SP1 to the Deadlywind bolt because the stock bolt assembly got all scratched and threaded because of a fitting scratching it inside while I unscrewed it. The DW bolt assembly has a narrower profile and it doesn't scrape along the screw (banjo fitting). I got the new bolt for the same price as sending my gun to Smart Parts for repair, just to keep a stock gun... talk about lame service.

but not really!!

It is my understanding the bolt would never scrape. It rides on the oring, and never touches metal. SP1's work just like Ion, see animation below. Most bolt scratches come from debris I would guess. Sean could answer better.

He i writing about the bolt sleeve not the bolt. It does get sratched to **** when you take it out as it does on mine and his and maybe 40% of other
sp-1's. Sean claims to not know what we are talking about and says just send it back to smart parts.
So does the L7 come with a new bolt sleeve? i don't see it in the pics

The L7 does not come with a new bolt sleeve/ back cap.
The Hollow point comes with a stalk that replaces the stock bolt sleeve/back cap.

I think so, actually, but only by some minuscule amount.
If I remember correctly though, the hollowpoint has higher flow, which is just as important as weight.
In your situation I would go with the Hollowpoint.

Change the barrel to an All American or Freak with AA tip, that will also help quiet the SP-1.

The problem is your tightening the back screw to much and its protruding into the bolt sleeve. Just back that screw off a bit .

I agree--I put a Freak tipped 14 inch on my sons SP-1 last weekend and it was alot quiter that the stock barrel or the Lapco Bigshot (no porting but a great barrel) that he usually uses.
