the quality is not a hosting issue. the server being down is due to paying for a cheap host - going back to the USPL being cheap about it.

it's ok for them to be cheap, but if you know its going to be low quality the first go around, don't charge!

it's like paying for a movie, and it's a bad copy of the film... sure it's not the theaters fault someone sent them a shreaded up box, but they will stil give money back.

Do you even have any clue of the costs involved in a live webcast. Bandwidth alone for the weekend could easily run over $5K, and if say even 200 people where to subscribe for the entire weekend that is only $1400 they get back.

I stream over 15,000 streams of high quality video to a central server where it is shared among over 50,000 users. I am quite sure I understand how it works.

And this.. isn't how its suppose to work. If they were worried about bandwidth cut the java chat out of things... Or get a better host. And there are 90 people in the chat room RIGHT NOW.. about 20-30 already left, I think your guess of 200 is kind of low...

BUT.. if you are ok paying $7 for the promise of a web cast, not actually getting it.. Please send me $7...

My problem is...USPL is a untested new league. I personally would glady pay per view PSP after seeing its quality both in in terms of broadcasting and commentary. I MIGHT pay for USPL if the user reviews go up for the second event. But the USPL didnt even give us a teaser game for the Web Cast...do you think they will stream the games after the event is over like the PSP is doing? if they do...then I will be happy with their decision to charge to watch it live.
