Vice poppet>> diy LP from stock

after checking sizes and shapes of both lp and stock poppet of vice I decided to 'tune' stock one.
as we know, lp poppet will allow to make HP pressure lower - from 220ish to 160-180ish and does not mean lowering lp pressure
so, to make lp poppet I unscrewed top white plastic cup from poppet (it is threaded), putted red locktight and screw in back but not till the end - leaved 1.5mm - so poppet in assembly now becames longer - it will open early and close lately.

tomorrow I will make chrono on reballs and will post results here))

ps sorry for my English, I am not a native speaker

EDITED: gathered images and infos together
total length of modded poppet = 33.1mm = 1.303149 inch

as you can see on big photo it is just not fully screwed in.

Here is gauge reading of hpr (I turned out hpr from vice and just screwed in shocker with gauge to get hpr pressure)
I can't believe! HPR: 140ish!!!!

jfi: current dwell is 6 and lpr is 70psi. chrono: 280,277,282,281,283,280

sounds interesting.

ive been thinking ever since the lp poppet has came out, if it was possible to be able to do these to gen3's. there cup seals unscrew too, so if yours holds out, i may have to play around with my ripper. or just buy a lp poppet and see if it will work in a gen3.

the LP poppet you buy also has a narrower valve pin not just longer.

will work if it dont break off.

personally i was thinking of drilling and tapping the larger brass part and putting a setscrew there.

damn it works!
sooo, reballs test give few results

bad:( 1.air efficiency go down dramatically - 3 feeders (app 550 reballs) for 1k psi (68ci) and 2.sound signature became a bit noticeable (also I blew out bolt pillow on dry firing)))
well-well: chrono +-3 on reballs is not bad and kick gone completely
good: hpr goes lower - unscrewed hpr reg for more than 3/4 of turn and! damn it shot darts now

jfi: current dwell is 6 and lpr is 70psi. chrono: 280,277,282,281,283,280
for this 'darts' filling its not high price for me with air efficiency. coz snapping from 2-3 balls better than showering by 1-2 pods

on weekend will test with paint. on humans. sorry)

lp poppet not narrower but has square shaped end for identification differences between lp and stock poppet

bro, was same idea - tapping for srew. but I am afraid to make just tail of poppet longer with not modifying poppet' oring position - it may push poppet' oring too far inside during rammer hit - so lp chamber will no more separated from hp chamber. Solenoid will not forgive it to you.

yes. but louder in a Bob Long manner, not dry ego's cough)))

it should, but not quieter)) because due to this poppet mod valve stays open while paintball leaving barrel' end - that is why))

for sure, lpr can be set lower, but main target I am fighting for with this mod is accuracy. since lower lpr mean less shot-to-shot consistency lets stay on 70))

those are called wrench flats

being able to identify a LP poppit because of them is only a side effect of their true purpose, scholars maintain the reason was lost ages ago...

lower your dwell so the valve sint open as long, or would this pretty much defeat the purepose of what your doing?

decreased dwell to 6 - now it sounds like a Bob Long) pop-pop-pop and shoots really smoother and noticeble more accurate than stock vice
on a saturday tourney no single chopping, +-2 fps and ball-to-ball trajectory
I love this 'darts' filling)

can not say about turns - sorry, already red lock'tighted
but I can post mod'ded poppet photos+total poppet' length measurment after modding
(as soon I will get home)

general idea was to open poppet same time as first oring on bolt seals chamber
