Gun Oil in Tank Nipple and/or ASA

Well, I was at my friend's house when he commented how my tank nipple (or general area where you screw onto marker) needed lubing so he used his tippmann gun oil. Would this be a problem? Should I have used the Smart Parts Lube? Am I supposed to lube it at all?

I'm worried because on another thread it mentioned you don't lube the ASA.

If you lube the fill nipple with oil you just turned your tank into a bomb.

Hopefully the OP was talking about the nipple inside that threads into the ASA- but like you said--if it's the fill nipple it can definitely go BOOM!

Yeeaah, I wouldn't lube it. It doesn't need lubing.

I use some TechT Gun Sav lube on the threads of my tank where it goes into the ASA.

Oil on teh fill nipple is a VERY bad idea.

Do not lube the fill nipple with any petroleum based lube. Petroleum based lube when compressed at 4500 psi can explode (this is how diesel engines work). I think Tippmann lube would be silicone based. Lubing the asa shouldn't realy present a problem, however I would stick with sleek just to be safe.
